Evangeline Gonzales, LCSW

Lead Counselor

Evangeline received her bachelors degree in social work in 2009 and her masters degree in clinical social work in 2010, both from New Mexico Highlands University. She worked in child protective services before transferring to hospice care as a social worker and bereavement coordinator. This is where she was able to witness the profound healing that takes place when one has a supportive presence to lean on during trying times. From here, Evangeline found her passion in helping those struggling with grief and trauma. She was trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) which is a highly effective treatment for trauma and PTSD.

Evangeline offers a safe and non-judgmental environment where you can process your experiences. She utilizes a humanistic and person-centered approach to therapy, which view clients as resourceful, capable of insight, and able to make constructive changes. She can help you tap in and harness your inner resources that will help you move toward healing and wholeness. Treatment is individualized and based on the goals that clients identify for themselves. Evangeline uses an integrative approach that includes mindfulness, EMDR, cognitive behavioral therapy, and attachment theory.
